GILFLITE Sierra – Bearer replacement

Here’s a story about a GILFLITE Sierra – built in 1990 with over 21 years of continued ‘hardcore’ use, this hull needed an overhaul with new floor replacement.

The job was completed by the owner (and ski buddies), with a step by step power-point slide show of how they went about completing the work.

This GILFLITE Sierra originally purchased in 1990, (second hand) with around 50 hrs, from a guy in Melbourne, Victoria.

Many years later, and after much use, the floors, carpet & upholstery were replaced at 600hrs, the heads were then done in 2005 at 800hrs, (see presentation below)

The boat skied at Lake Barrington with us in Tassie, then Hobart with us, followed by Brisbane and again at Barrington when returning to Tassie in 2005.
